Development Dialogue: Global Education Programs to Benefit All Participants
December 5, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pmFree
Is it even possible to design and execute programs that provide benefits to all participants? If so, what do equitable global education experiences look like? How can this learning be used by others engaging in global development and global education?
These were the questions that a trio of organizations partnered to explore together. The collaborators – Envoys, Starfish, and GALS Denver – were awarded a 2018 International Collaboration Fund grant by the Posner Center. Together, they designed, tested, and evaluated the efficacy of a different model for global education that engaged students from GALS Denver with the Girl Pioneers participating in the Starfish program in Guatemala.
Join us at this Development Dialogue to hear more about how they co-created this trip, the research design they utilized, what the actual trip experience was like, and what their findings show. They’ll share a tool that can be to assess the benefit of trips for all participants – a useful tool for every organization that hosts visitors!
This event has been generously sponsored by Beyond Our Borders, a group-advised fund held at the Women’s Foundation of Colorado, and a donor for this ICF grant. Lunch will be provided.
