Shared Solutions: Host Communities and Displaced Women Working Together for Better Health and Rights
October 9 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm UTC+0Free – $40
“Sexual and reproductive health problems are responsible for one third of health issues for women between the ages of 15 and 44 years.
One in three women under 50 has experienced physical and/or sexual violence by a partner, or non-partner sexual violence.
Evidence suggests that women are more prone than men to experience anxiety, depression, and somatic complaints. Depression is the most common mental health problem for women and suicide a leading cause of death for women under 60.” – World Health Organization
On Tuesday, October 9, WorldDenver will be joined by Lois Quam (Pathfinder International CEO) and Pardis Mahdavi (Senior Associate Dean at DU’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies) to discuss women’s global health issues and the steps we will need to take to further improve the status of women’s health.
