International Women’s Day: Women In Technology
March 8 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm$100 – $150
Each year on March 8th, countries around the world lift up the achievements of women in their societies to recognize and celebrate the leadership role that women play in business, academia, government, community-building, and families.
The theme of our International Women’s Day program in 2019 is Women in Technology: Building Our Global Future. With a panel discussion in the morning that is open to the public, followed by the ticketed luncheon in the afternoon, we will celebrate the amazing women that are taking the STEM field by storm.
The luncheon will feature keynote speaker, Adriana Gascoigne. Adriana is the founder and CEO of Girls in Tech, a San Francisco-based non-profit organization devoted to empowering, educating, and engaging women in the tech industry. Adriana started Girls in Tech as a way for women in the male-dominated field of tech to come together and form a network of support, encouragement, and empowerment. Girls in Tech has expanded across 60 chapters in 36 countries, providing women and girls around the world with an educational platform offering the support and resources they need to pursue their dreams in the tech industry and bring to it a much needed female perspective and presence.
Speaking at our VIP Reception and providing the introduction to our luncheon will be inspirational speaker, Tania Katan. In addition to being an inspirational speaker, Tania is also a creative consultant and co-creator of the #ItWasNeverADress campaign. She has been a featured speaker at CiscoLive!, S.H.E. Summit, Business of Software, Expedia, Uber, Etsy, Humana, Comedy Central Stage, TEDx, and more. As author of Creative Trespassing Tania travels the world showing individuals, teams and organizations how to experience the breakthroughs necessary to spark a creative revolution at work and in life.
We are also pleased to announce that our 2019 honoree will be Jill Tietjen. Jill is a pioneer in helping women find their paths to STEM careers. Her passion as an advocate for women, an engineer, author, speaker, mentor and global leader in the field are beyond inspiring. We look forward to honoring her and recognizing all that she does for the community.
Patron Tables are also available for $2,000 for groups of 10 that prefer to sit together at the luncheon. Contact Melissa Traynham for more details.
